Forms of Waste - PARASITIC
Copyright © 2007 Kaizen Motorsports. All Rights Reserved.
Parasitic losses occur when an object is forced to move through a viscous fluid (AKA windage losses) or when an accessory unit is powered by the engine, therefore robbing the engine of power that could have been applied to the drivetrain.

Examples where this may occur:
Transmission and differential gears rotating in viscous lube, engine components rotating in viscous oil, mechanical water pump, alternator, pwr steering pump, oil pump, mechanical fan, mechanical fuel pump, vacuum pump, etc.....
