Forms of Waste - THERMODYNAMIC
Copyright © 2007 Kaizen Motorsports. All Rights Reserved.
Thermodynamic losses occur when heat energy is lost or not fully converted into mechanical energy. Thermodynamic losses are governed by the branch of physics that deals with heat transfer and the relationships between temperatures, pressures and volumes.
Examples where this may occur:
Piston ring blowby, leaky valves, combustion chamber/piston/spark plug interactions, unoptimized air/fuel ratio, unoptimized valve timing and/or spark timing, etc.....
